Pressure-free sintered silicon carbide products are high-performance silicon carbide ceramic products made of submicron silicon carbide particles as raw material and boron, carbon and other sintering additives by densification and sintering under no external pressure conditions using powder metallurgy manufacturing methods.
High hardness
The hardness is second only to diamond and cubic boron nitride, with excellent wear-resistant performance, and can be used to manufacture mechanical seals, sand blasting nozzles, bullet-proof pieces and other parts requiring high hardness.
High-temperature strength
It can still be used reliably in air even at high temperatures over 1600°C. Under inert gas and vacuum, the maximum operating temperature can reach 2000°C. It is suitable for parts such as roller bars, heat exchange tubes, square beams and kiln plates in high temperature kilns.
Excellent thermal shock resistance
High thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion, so it has excellent thermal shock resistance, compared with other refractories can be capable of rapid thermal cycling, such as in ceramic heat exchangers and other equipment applications, can withstand rapid changes in temperature without rupture.
Strong corrosion resistance
Chemically stable, with good resistance to acid, alkali, salt and other corrosive media, in the chemical field can be used to manufacture chemical pump sealing ring, high temperature ultra-thin kiln furniture.
Low density
Compared with some other metal materials, the density of pressureless sintered silicon carbide products is low, which helps to reduce the overall weight of the equipment, and has an advantage in aerospace and other areas with strict requirements on weight.
Good electrical insulation
Silicon carbide is a good electrical insulating material, and can be used to make insulating parts in the electronic and electrical fields.
